Southtowns Radiology and Cancer Services Program Partner to Offer Free Mammograms
Mammograms will be offered to underinsured and uninsured women from across Western New York
ORCHARD PARK, N.Y., August 10, 2011 – Southtowns Radiology, a local leader in diagnostic imaging, and Cancer Services Program of Western New York (CSPWNY) are collaborating to provide free mammograms to underinsured and uninsured women from across Western New York for the second year in a row.
On Saturday, September 17, Southtowns Radiology will open its Orchard Park office at 8 a.m. to provide free mammograms and clinical breast exams. The costs for the services will be covered by CSPWNY as part of its commitment to provide free breast screenings and treatment for the uninsured.
Since 2006, Southtowns Radiology and CSPWNY have partnered on similar programs, resulting in more than 150 Western New York women served. Additionally, Southtowns Radiology was named Provider of the Year in 2009 by Cancer Services Program for their outstanding patient services and care.
“This is a program that directly aligns with our commitment to encourage women to be proactive toward cancer prevention,” said Southtowns Radiology Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Mary Turkiewicz. “Access to preventative health screenings is an important piece and Southtowns is proud to co-sponsor this event.”
“The Cancer Services Program is thrilled to once again be working with Southtowns Radiology,” said CSPWNY Program Director Michelle Wysocki. “We’re able to fulfill our mission of helping and educating underserved people around Western New York by partnering with community organizations like Southtowns.”
Women interested in participating in the event should call CSPWNY at 716-886-9201 to schedule appointments, which can be made through September 16. While appointments cannot be made electronically, additional information can be found at www.cspwny.org.
