Collaborating with ConnectLife, Western New York’s only community blood center, over 16 pints of blood were donated for local hospitals and patients in need.
“Hosting a blood drive was an idea that came from one of our employees last year,” said Andrea Moran, Director of Marketing for Southtowns Radiology. “This is the second drive we’ve had and we continued to see so much interest and support from our teams internally. It’s a way we can continue to give back to our Western New York patient community – you honestly never know when you may find yourself or your loved one in need of blood. Our employees know this – and we are grateful for their support of this need.”
All blood collected by ConnectLife stays local, and helps nearly every hospital within the eight counties of Western New York. One donation of blood can impact up to three lives of Western New Yorkers who may find themselves in need during an unplanned or critical medical emergency. Every two seconds, someone in the United States is in need of a blood transfusion.
Beyond a community blood center, ConnectLife offers Western New York’s only organ, eye, and tissue donation program. Their mission is focused on educating the community, inspiring donation, and connecting lives. Currently, over 10,000 people in the state of New York are awaiting an organ transplant.
Southtowns Radiology plans to host their next donation drive with ConnectLife on Wednesday, September 21st at the Orchard Park office located at 3050 Orchard Park Road.
